It’s Nancy Meyers Movie Season and Here Are Our Fave Homes

I love a good Nancy Meyers film, especially one where I can see the dreamy interiors. Hookedonhouses offers a great look through the homes of a lot of movie homes, but I picked a few movie faves and their humble abodes.

One of my favorites is always the classic cottage from The Holiday, we’ll probably share that one closer to the holidays, but today we’re visiting a few other homes of the Meyers’ classics.

Baby Boom

Mini movie clue in: A NYC career woman is left with custody of a baby and uproots her life to small town Vermont.

The house: The charming, yellow house is the perfect setting out of the modern NYC apartment that is out scene in the beginning. It has all of the farmhouse charm that will some upgrades could be an inspiration for Granmillenial meets cottage core.

Father of the Bride

Mini movie clue in: Father has hard time with young daughter getting married and all of the chaos surrounding it, especially when they want to host it at their home.

The house: The traditional white house with white picket fence dream. While the interiors are of it’s time, it has beautiful moldings, exteriors and the warmth that is a Nancy Meyers film.

The Parent Trap

Mini movie clue in: Long lost twins learn of each other, make a switch to meet their other parent and plan to bring them back together.

The house: We’re focusing on Nick’s Napa Valley house and it’s vineyard ranch house that has beautiful exteriors. The vines all going up the house are so insanely gorgeous and I’m obsessed with that front door, massive fireplace and blue kitchen cabinets.

It’s Complicated

Mini movie clue in: Divorceé is heading into a new stage of life with her children out of the nest - she is dating while in a complicated relationship with her ex-husband.

The house: Set in Santa Barbara, it’s the epitome of what we call “Santa Barbara Spanish'“ house design with warm textiles, roofing and has a kitchen to die for. I love the iron windows and intricate details within each space.

The Intern

Mini movie clue in: Retiree joins an e-commerce company as an intern and bonds with young CEO while they both figure out life.

The house: We’re focusing on the brownstone here, and undoubtedly the most modern of the movie homes. You can see some of the subtle touches of traditional NYC brownstone with a modern edge. The kitchen, as always, it gorgeous.
