Easy Painted Pumpkins 3 Ways

There is nothing we love more than a little zhuzh without all of the mess all around… well, there is something we love more, and that is holiday crafts.

We’re fully into October and I just had join in and feel a little spirited. We bought a few of those $1.50 mini pumpkins from in front of the grocery to store to try it out on and see how it went.

Honestly, it was easy and fun. I would definitely do this same technique on larger pumpkins.

The steps are as simple as they look: dab your finger in paint, tap it on the pumpkin, repeat. Then, I take my little brush and add three small dots to be eyes and a oooooo mouth (I hope you read that as ghostly.)

I used acrylic paint and it easily came off, but there is always washable paint. I can’t confirm how well it stays, but definitely something to try.

Also, this by far was the most popular among friends. Everyone loves a ghost!

This one took the longest, but still one of our favorites. We have a whole tutorial on vases that we’ll share here ASAP, but it uses the same logic.

Similar to the vases that we’ve made, we did a general coat on the pumpkin after rinsing and completely drying the exterior. I then started to slowly add in more of the baking soda with the paint to create that rough, concrete-like texture.

This is for the people who would like to keep the essence of the natural pumpkin, but elevated.

Add a little paint to your stem and voila, it becomes a whole new world!
